Information You Submit
Search terms
A name or location entered into a partner search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy policy governs its handling of the query.
Messages
If you email or submit a message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not disclose contact messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine web logs and measurement services may collect technical details when a page loads. These can include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring page, when available; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies may help measure use and remember basic preferences. Browser controls can reject or delete them, although some site or partner features may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary site operation. It may be used to:
- keep pages available and responsive;
- send a search to the selected partner;
- understand which pages visitors find useful;
- detect and repair technical faults; and
- display advertising that may reflect inferred interests.
External Sites and Advertising
Links may lead to Calhoun County jail and court pages, Michigan corrections resources, federal locators, or third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy controls. We do not manage those systems.
Advertising providers may use their own cookies or similar technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
When Data Is Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics vendors that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a visitor may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data we hold;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete eligible information; or
- opt out of certain processing where that right applies.
These requests concern information held by this private site. Requests for Calhoun County public records are governed separately by Michigan FOIA, including MCL 15.231 and its exemptions.
Changes to This Notice
Privacy practices may change as the site or its service providers change. A revised notice becomes effective when posted here with its new effective date.
